Biography
Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun is an artist of Coast Salish and Okanagan descent who graduated with an honours degree in Painting from the Emily Carr School of Art and Design in 1983, and received the Vancouver Institute for the Visual Arts award in 1998. Yuxweluptun's work has been shown in both solo and group exhibitions internationally. Yuxweluptun uses Coast Salish cosmology, Northwest Coast formal design elements, and the Western landscape tradition to document and promote change in contemporary Indigenous history in large-scale paintings.
